Reviving my blog about some of my favorite things for the week. It’s called ‪#‎favfridays‬ and each week I will post my favorite song, music video and mix show.  Click on the images to hear or view the songs.
Have your say and let me know what you think about my selections or post your own in the comments.  I’d love to hear what music is currently on the top of your list.

Here are this weeks:

#FavFridays

1. Song – Alessia Cara – Wild Things

She is Canadian, enough said right?  It is great to see home grown talent make it to the spot light and Alessia has done that.  Determined to ‘Know It All”, she surely has caught my attention with Wild Things, her second single off her latest album.  It has peaked at number 7 on the Canadian Top 40 chart and what I like about it is the use of Roland 808 drum machines to give it that hook.

2.  Video – Years & Years – Desire ft. Tove Lo

I purchased the album Communion by Years & Years knowing that their stuff would be controversial.  British frontman Olly Alexander is an advocate for gay rights and  has stated in interviews he would like to see greater use of the qualified male pronoun in music.  This video is provocative and it features Tove Lo, who adds depth and resonance to the vocals.

3. Mixshow – Mau5trap presents… – Beats 1 Radio

I’ve only recently discovered Apple’s new Beats 1 radio.  I’m still on the fence about enlisting a streaming radio channel however having the likes of Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 as a host got my attention.  He has always been the epitome of social media trolling and voices his personal opinions whenever he see’s fit. Listening to his first 2 show, I was immediately enthralled by his calm and relaxed take on various house music artists.
